Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. Firstly, I hope you had a fantastic Christmas, did Santa bring you anything nice? As we're in the midst of Winter, I thought I'd share some outfit inspiration with you all. I love how cosy a scarf can make an outfit look. What is your favourite outfit to wear at the moment?

I just wanted to say

The Lumineers

01/12/2013

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. On Wednesday I had the pleasure of watching The Lumineers perform live and I can say it was honestly one of the best concerts I've been to. If you have the chance, I really recommend going to see them; they were fantastic. I'm probably going to sound really stupid but I had no idea there was five of them, I always thought it was just Wesley, Jeremiah and Neyla but there is also Stelth and Ben (who played the piano with his feet at one point). Are you a fan on The Lumineers?

Small Primark, H&M, New Look & Superdrug Haul

29/10/2013
 L to R: JUMPER-H&M £5 (SALE) | TOP-PRIMARK £5 | JEGGINGS-PRIMARK £7 | JEANS- NEW LOOK £17.99 (£19.99 W/O STUDENT DISCOUNT)
L TO R: 3 MINUTE MIRACLE DEEP TREATMENT- AUSSIE £4.99 | SKIN PERFECTION MICELLAR SOLUTION-L'OREAL PARIS £4.99 | DAILY SCRUB-NEUTROGENA £3.30 | NAIL POLISH- REVLON "MINTED" VIA POUNDLAND | NAIL POLISH- BARRY M "BLUE GRAPE £3.99

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. I went to Exeter yesterday and did a spot of shopping so I thought I'd quickly show you some of the things I picked up. I got the jumper from the H&M sale, just to throw on. The top was a bargain from Primark as it was originally £10 but when I got to the till it was reduced to a fiver = happy Stacey. I also needed some new jeans as my old ones ripped, luckily not in public, so I picked up some black and denim skinnies. That's about it for clothing, I didn't really find that much to be perfectly honest. Then I just picked up a few bits from Superdrug; my obsession with blue hues on my nails is getting ridiculous now, but hey a girl can never have enough nail polish, right?

In other unrelated news, I updated my blog theme. I went for a minimalist approach but hopefully it doesn't look too boring? What do you think? I still need to add a few tweeks here and there but  it's more or less finished. I also recently joined #BritishBloggerSelection, which is run over on Little Vintage Camera by Ellie, and basically every week you all get given a theme for a blog post under life, beauty, fashion etc and you write about it, whilst making new friends and increasing your traffic. I think it's a great idea and you don't have to participate every week, which I think helps to keep it fun. If you're interested in joining email Ellie (littlevintagecamera@gmail.com) with your blog URL, blog name and your name.

What do you think of the new theme? (Feel free to leave constructive criticism) Have you brought anything nice lately?

There's a hole in my soul, can you fill it?

SHIRT-MY DAD'S | DRESS-PRIMARK | WRIST WATCH- BORN PRETTY* | RING-TOPSHOP VIA EBAY

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. Just another quick outfit to show you all today, I hope you don't mind. And before you read any further, I just want to apologize for some of the angles of the photos; one of my tripod legs broke so it went a bit wonky but I'm in the process of buying a new one, so hopefully it will be all sorted for my next post.

The very lovely Lynn from Born Pretty sent me this watch to review, so I best get started. Firstly, I absolutely adore the design, I think it looks really vintage-y with it's big clock face and tortoise shell strap and I've gotten so many compliments for it. The only thing I'm having a bit of trouble with is the strap; it's quite stiff, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as it shows it's good quality and it's obviously new but it's just a little difficult to put on at the moment, but I think it will loosen up after I've worn it for a while. Other then that, it's a perfect little watch that's practical and looks great.

Lynn has also kindly given out a 10% discount code for you guys to use over at Born Pretty, so go check her shop out. The code is: STACEYC10

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing

  DRESS-NEW LOOK | LACE COLLAR-NEW LOOK | JACKET (NOT SEEN) - H&M

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. I just thought I'd quickly show you guys what I wore to sixth form today. I never thought I'd actually say this but I actually kind of miss my school uniform. I find it so hard to get dressed in the mornings, which is why I love dresses like this; they're easy to style and add accessories to so it actually looks like I made an effort. I had been eyeing up the collars in new look for ages but I just never picked one up and then I saw this one in the sale for just £1! So obviously it was meant to be;D  I love it and I think it just adds a little something extra to the dress. What is your favourite accessory at the moment?

Lately...

17/09/2013

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. Somehow we're already in the middle of September which means colder days, darker nights and time to go back to school. I'm still kind of struggling to get back into a routine after two months away but hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things soon enough and stop feeling so tired. Is anyone else feeling this way at the moment? So lately I've been...

Loving; Soap and Glory's hand food...IT SMELLS SO GOOD
Reading: History, Biology and Psychology textbooks -_-
Listening to: The Lumineers and Nina Nesbitt
Watching: Crabstickz's animal impressions
Painting my nails with: Barry M's "Prickly Pear"
Looking forward to; lazy Sundays in my PJs
Drinking; TEA and lots of it

What have you been .... lately?

WHAT I'D WEAR TO A FESTIVAL:KIMONOTOPSHORTSWELLIESRAYBANSHEADBANDNAIL POLISH

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. As it is currently festival season, New Look have created a "festival fashion timeline" which showcases the different fashions from 1969 to 2013 including hippy, grudge, boho etc, so definitely check that out below. Inspired, I decided to show you guys what I'd wear to a festival, if I was lucky enough to go to one. I think wellies are a must and I love these floral ones from M&S, cute and practical. I also adore this crochet top from new look and it's a bargain too! What is your festival must have? & What is your favourite festival fashion decade?

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. I don't know about you, but I love looking at other people's bedroom interior and stealing their ideas for my own bedroom, and thought I'd share some with you. I love the top right image as I find it really hard to arrange things on my shelves, does anyone else have this problem? I also love how fairy lights can make a room look so cute and cosy. What's your favourite room out of the above? & What's your favourite piece/object etc in your room?

A soppy moment | Blog's first birthday

31/07/2013

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. As you can probably tell from the title and the pretty picture, my blog is celebrating it's first birthday. (Well belated birthday-26th July) A whole year of blogging, wow. I know for some people, a year is nothing but I feel really proud in what I've managed to achieve in that small space of time. There are 515+ of you from bloglovin' and GFC alone, who have hopefully actually enjoyed reading my ramblings and stuck around, which I think is crazy, considering that is more people than in my school year, so I guess I owe you all a massive thank you:) *huge cyberhug* I really do appreciate every single one of you and as cheesy as it sounds, your lovely comments and emails actually do brighten my day and make me smile like a cheshire cat, so thank you all so much.

With my sentimental cliched but true piece over, I'll move on to some more boring blog bits and pieces; I recently made a facebook page for this blog so if you have a spare thirty seconds, please could you check it out and like talk pretty here? I'm also looking for some more people to do an ad swap with, so if you're interested, email me (talkpretty@hotmail.co.uk). Lastly, I'm thinking of changing the appearance of my blog or just "jazzing it up" a little bit, so if things start to look a bit funny, you know why.

Once again, thank you all so much and I look forward to the future of talk-pretty.com

Review | Nivea Creme

22/07/2013
Nivea Creme - £3.39 via superdrug & boots

Moisturising, love it or loathe it, I personally think it's one of the most important steps in achieving nice skin, yet so many people don't do it. Yes, sometimes it can be a bit of a chore but I honestly dread to think how horrible my skin would look and feel if I didn't moisturise, so I've decide to share the wonders of my favourite moisturiser with you all.

Nivea creme is honestly the best moisturiser I've come across so far, especially for my skin type -dry/normal. Every morning and evening, I literally plaster my face in this stuff and once it has sunk in, I'm left with soft, smooth skin.I also really like this because it doesn't break me out like some moisturisers I've tried. I just love it.

The only downside I can really think of is that the creme itself is quite thick so sometimes it can take a while for it to sink in, which isn't great if you're in a rush, but I don't mind because I usually have a lot of spare time on my hands;D

I also think it's a fantastic price for it's size, roughly around the £3 mark, depending on where you go, so it's pretty cheap, which is always a bonus. They also come in different sizes, so you can always buy a small pot, just to try it out and then when you hopefully love it as much as I do, you can buy a big 'old pot, which usually lasts me around one or two months.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic moisturiser, especially if you're on a budget, and will probably continue to use it for the rest of the foreseeable future:) What's your favourite moisturiser? Are you a fan of nivea?

Travels | London

20/07/2013
Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. Yesterday, for the first time in my whole sixteen years, I ventured into London. *insert over-dramatic gasps here* I know, it's disgraceful. However, I have now popped my London cherry and am going to share the experience with you all via very tourist-ey photos, that haven't been shown about a million times over, but I'm going to do it anyway, just to prove how bad-ass I am;D

Lets go...

OOTD | a love like this won't last forever

Flower Top-New Look / Skirt-New Look / Bracelets-New Look / Tights-Primark

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. Today is the first of many: the first day of July, my first outfit of the day in months and my first ever outfit of the day outside. Check me out;D Please try to ignore the giant leaf in most of the photos, I tried to avoid it but it insisted on getting it's moment of fame;) I really like this outfit, I actually felt very summery for a change and I can see this skirt becoming one of my favourite pieces. What are some of your favourite pieces to wear?

DIY- Bunting

28/06/2013
What you will need:
-coloured string/cord of your choice
-scissors
-pen or pencil
-ruler
-hole punch
-patterned card or fabric (I got mine from the range)
-a piece of paper or card

01.) On your piece of paper or card, go around the edge of  your patterned card or fabric so that you have the outline of it. Then using your ruler, measure how long the edge of patterned card is and find the middle of it (in my case, my card was 15cm long so the middle would be 7.5cm) and mark it on your piece of paper.

02.) Then using your mark as a guide, draw a straight line down the middle. Using a ruler, connect the end of your line to the top two corners to form a triangle shape.

03.) Cut out your triangle and hole punch near the top. This is your template for all your pieces of bunting.

04.) Place your template on your piece of card or fabric and trace around it. (TIP: turn the card over and trace the outline on the back as this stops you seeing the pencil line) Then follow the steps as before: cut out your triangle and hole punch it near the top. Then repeat for a different patterned card or fabric until you have reached your desired number of triangles.

05.) To join your pieces of bunting together, you need to grab your string or cord (I didn't cut mine until the very end, when I had all my pieces of bunting on it, so just reeled it off it's spinney-thing < my brilliant piece of description, but hopefully you understand what I mean?) and thread it through the first hole and then pull it across and thread it through the second hole (through the back to the front and then the front to the back). Then pull quite a lot of the string through so you can add another piece of bunting, then repeat the steps again until you have added all of your pieces of bunting and yours should begin to look a little something like mine in the picture below.  Once you've added all the bunting, you can now cut the string (I'd leave about 15cm at each end so you can hang up your bunting) and you're done.

Hopefully, you all enjoyed the tutorial and understood what was happening, I'm not the best at explaining things, so if you need any extra help just ask in the comments:) I'd love to see how yours turned out.

26/06/2013

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. It feels odd to actually sit down and write a proper post as I haven't done one in so long but I have some exciting news to share with you lovely lot: I'M COMING BACK TO BLOGGING, WOO. Now some of you might be like "you never even left" which is true; I never officially said "I'm not going to blog any more" however, in the last six months I've only posted four times, which was due to a number of issues: I had no laptop from which to blog (which made things just a tad difficult;D), school and all my exams and a serious case of writer's block.

However, for my birthday, my parent's bought me a new laptop which eliminates problem number one. Also on my birthday, I had my last exam (woo!) so now I have 10 weeks off school, which means a lot of extra time for blogging, so here I am. I already have a couple of posts lined up for you, including a DIY and a haul,  but if you have anything you want to see, tell me in the comments and I'll try my hardest to get that up for you:) I look forward to getting this blog up and running again.

Motivational Mondays

10/06/2013
Image from Pinterest
Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. It looks like it's that time of the week again: MONDAY IS UPON US. However, never fear, motivational Monday posts are here.

This week's quote is "A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not why ships are built". Now grab your swimming goggles and flippers, we're going to read deeper into this...

Many of us, including myself, like to stay in our comfort zones with our routines, friends, social activities and whatnot. Whilst there is nothing wrong with that, sometimes  it's good to push yourself and see what comes of it. Like the ship, we can stay doing what we already do and play it safe but if we never leave our "harbour" we will never discover or experience anything new or exciting and where's the fun in that?;D

I'm going off on a tangent now but there's another quote that says something like "you should do something that scares you everyday" and I think these two quotes go really  well together. Basically, step out of your comfort zone every now and then and see what happens. (Unless it's something like jumping out of an aeroplane without a parachute because you will most probably die and that's not good;D).

~
A little update: Here I go again, apologizing again for my awful blogging skills as I've only posted three times this year *cue tutting* however, I am really sorry, can you forgive me? Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to you lovely lot, for sticking around and saying such nice things in the comments, it really has made me smile. I'm still laptop-less so I can't promise regular posting yet (boo!), but now that I'm a working 'gal, I should hopefully be able to buy myself one soon.

In other news, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY IN TWO WEEKS TODAY! I'm not excited or anything... I've also left school now, well until sixth form in September, which means I'm currently on "study leave" *cough someone please make me study, I'm going to fail cough* yay. Anyway I need to revise for my math's exam tomorrow or else I really am going to fail so thank you for reading all my ramblings and I hope to speak to you all soon!

Motivational Mondays

18/03/2013
image from tumblr

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. As you may or not have noticed, today is Monday *boo, hiss, cry* but fear not as I have something which hopefully might make your Monday a little bit easier: some motivation. I know for all of you self-motivated people out there, this might seem a little pointless but if you are like me and a master of procrastination, sometimes all you need is a friendly kick up the backside and what better way to receive it then from a nice little quote and hey, who doesn't like reading quotes? P.S the idea for motivation mondays is Louise's over at sprinkle of glitter.

And as you probably have all heard by now, there has been a bit of a hoo-ha surrounding GFC, so in preparation I just thought I'd list all the places you can follow/find this blog:)

I wanna scream until the words dry out

^Not relevant at all but Barney enjoying the snow

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. Once again I seem to be starting off with an apology but I think it's only fair since I haven't posted for well over a month *slaps wrist* but for once, I actually have a valid reason...my dell laptop has completely died on me so I've lost everything (Photoshop, pictures, music, the lot ): ). So I hope you guys understand why I haven't updated and stuff but I'm going to try and blog more from my mum's laptop. Can you recommend some good laptops? I need to start saving for a new one.

The last month or so has been exciting as I've found out that my last day of compulsory schooling is the 24th of May (A month before my birthday;D), which is actually not that far away and then I'm free...well, not quite as my GCSE exams start on the 13th of May but shh. I've also chosen my A-level options for Sixth form; History, Psychology, English Literature and Chemistry which I'm really looking forward to because I get to drop P.E and Maths sixth form just seems so much better, however, please feel free to share the reality below;D

Happy New Year!

Hello lovelies, hope you're all doing well. Just a quick post at 12:30 in the morning, (as you do) to wish you all a happy new year! I really hope you had a good Christmas and a good 2012 in general and that you'll all have an even better 2013. I can't wait to see what this year brings! What are your new year resolutions?
